1. Louisa Jane Cox Marker
Inscription. Louisa Jane Cox was a member of the first party to come by ox team through the Pacheco Pass to Merced County. With her family she camped in this grove in 1850 and settled at Cox’s Ferry. She married James J. Stevinson in 1855 and resided in this neighborhood until her death in 1933. This tablet is placed in her memory by her Granddaughter Judith B. Hatfield.

"Wife of Colonel James Stevinson (1828-1907). Mother of Samuel Stevinson (1856-1913), and Mary Stevinson Harris (1858-1931). Outlived all her children and most of her grandchildren. She was a pioneer that came of the Don Pedro Resivour in a covered wagon. A picture of her hangs in the Stevinson Ranch Golf Course. father was a miner and operated Cox Ferry, while Louisa was educated in Quartzburg, Mariposa County."
