Inscription. The Bartrams' garden featured a rustic arbor twined in vines where guests like Franklin, Washington, and Jefferson were entertained at tea. Hosting curious visitors and potential customers was an important part of maintaining a public botanic garden. The location of the historic arbor is unknown; this re-creation features vines of the native American Wisteria (Wisteria frutescens).
