Inscription.
The Lancaster Avenue Readiness Center (also known as the Armory) on the Drexel University campus at Lancaster Walk has a proud history dating to its construction in 1916 from a design by architect Phillip H. Johnson. The Armory has long been home to the 103D Engineer Regiment, 'the Dandy First,' created in 1747, and considered the first regiment of the nation's National Guard.

Prior to the Armory drill hall's conversion to the Arlen Specter US Squash Center, it hosted Drexel's ROTC training program, convocations, special events, concerts, and athletics. The Armory's annex remains in use by Drexel, serving as the home of the ROTC program Task Force Dragon, as well as home to the 103D Engineer Battalion of the National Guard.

Erected by Drexel University.
