James Norris Physical Education Center
James Norris, a great supporter of hockey, is regarded as one of the founders of the modern game. Canadian born, he moved to the United States around the turn of the century. Though an extremely successful businessman, he always practiced his love of sports and physical education. James Norris was a great supporter of the State of Michigan and Michigan athletics, and in his lifetime was owner of the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League.
