Marker is on Bow Valley Trail (Provincial Highway 1A) 1.6 kilometers east of Morley Road (Provincial Highway 133X), on the right when traveling east. Memorial Cairn is located in the McDougall Stoney Mission Historical Site parking area, on the south side of the highway. Touch for map. Marker is in this post office area: Morley AB T0L 1N0, Canada. 2. McDougall Memorial (east tablet)
Canada. In 1863 he established the Victoria Mission near Edmonton, the earliest Methodist mission in the West, and was superintendent of Methodist missionary work in the Saskatchewan District. In 1871 he founded a permanent mission at Edmonton House, a Hudson's Bay Company outpost at what is now Edmonton, Alberta. He and his son John McDougall served missions over a wide area, ministering to Indian groups at Pigeon Lake, Stoney Lake, Saddle Lake and Whitefish Lake.

2. John Chantler McDougall.
John Chantler McDougall (1842–1917) was a missionary, civil servant and published author in Alberta, Canada. He moved west with his father George Millward McDougall to the boreal forest trading post of Norway House in 1860. He followed in his father's footsteps and did missionary work in the western Prairies. He worked for multiple governments on First Nations issues over the years and worked with Native leaders to lobby governments to improve conditions for their people.
