Inscription. Darlene Green is a native St. Louisan. She graduated from Vashon High School and Washington University. Ms. Green is the first Black woman elected to the position of city comptroller. The City of St. Louis has recorded consecutive years of budget surpluses during her tenure. She maintains a strong community involvement through her membership in multiple civic organizations.
