Plaza de la Aduana
Toma su nombre por cuanto allí se encontraba la Real Aduana encargada de la revisión de las mercancías que llegaban al puerto. En ella se encuentra la Casa de la Aduana - Alcaldía de Cartagena y la Casa del Marqués de Premio Real. Debido a los distintos usos que tomó la edificación, y a la instalación del monumento al Almirante Cristóbal Colón, fue cambiando de nombre, pero siempre para los cartageneros fue y será conocida como la Plaza de la Aduana.

English:
The square takes its name because of the Royal Customs in charge of inspecting the goods coming into port was located here. The square includes Casa de la Aduana - Alcaldía de Cartagena and Casa del Marqués de Premio Real. Due to the different uses of the building, and to the installation of the monument to Cristóbal Colón, its name changed, but it was and will always be known as Plaza de la Aduana by the people of Cartagena.
