1. 2917 E. Broad Street Marker

Inscription. This Italianate brick house was built in 1888. Its notable features include granite shouldered window lintels, a handsome bracketed cornice and glass panel double entrance doors. Adolphus L. Savage, a brick contractor, was the original owner. Mr. Savage, occupation is evident with the abundant fine brickwork. The Savage family resided here until 1903. This house is listed as a contributing structure to the St. John's Church Historic District on the Virginia Landmarks Register and the National Register of Historic Places.
