Inscription. The Knobbe House was built in the mid 1800's and owned originally by Bernard Henke. A farmer, Joseph Knobbe, a German immigrant, came to work for the Henke family in 1877 and in 1879 married Bernard's daughter, Mary Anna Henke. The City of Hazelwood, in order to preserve the farmhouse, moved it from its original location west of what is now Village Square. To Brookes Park in 1995. The house was restored in 2007 for community rental and social events, and serves as the city's economic development office.
