1. Rising Sun Tavern Marker
Inscription.
George Washington's youngest brother Charles built this structure around 1670 as his home.

In the early 1790's, it was converted into a tavern by the Wallace family. It operated for 35 years as a stopover for travelers in the bustling port town of Fredericksburg.
