5. Mound City Civil War Memorial Marker

Gravesite of Lieut. H. W. Curtis located within the Mound City Soldier's Lot. Lt. Curtis was the only officer killed during the Battle of Mine Creek which took place ten miles to the east.

6. Headstone of Colonel James Montgomery @ Mound City Soldier's Lot

James Montgomery was a famous "Jayhawker" and anti-slavery zealot. He led the 3rd Kansas Infantry, the 2nd South Carolina (African Descent) which became the 34th U.S. Colored Troops, and the 6th Kansas State Militia.
