Tolbrugstraat / Toll Bridge Street
Deze straatnaam is ontstaan doordat hier de oude tolbrug over de Kostverlorenvaart lag aan het einde van het Lange Bleekerspad. Tot omstreeks 1900 heeft deze tolbrug bestaan; zelfs de voetgangers moesten hier tol betalen.
This street name is named after the old toll bridge over the Kostverlorenvaart that was located here at the end of the Lange Bleekerspad (“Long Bleachers Path”). This toll bridge existed until around 1900; even pedestrians were required to pay toll.
