1. Dr. James Whittico Marker
Inscription. Dr. James Whittico was born in West Virginia and graduated from Lincoln University-PA and Mcharry Medical College. He served as an officer in the U.S. Amy during WWII, and was a founder of the Mound City Medical Center. He was the 1st Black member of the Missouri State Board of Health and the Board of Hospitals.
