Homenaje al Ilustre benefactor Capitán de los Tercios Viejos de Castilla Don Pedro Antonio de Ibarra y Sangotita.

Nació en la Villa de Durango del Señorío de Visgata, Reino de Castilla. Vino a la Nueva España y vivió en esta ciudad de la Provincia de Michoacán. Ejercitando la caridad, fundó varias obras piadosas entre ellas el Hospital de Jesús, hoy Hospital Civil, El Convento de Religiosas y la beneficiencia que lleva su nombre.

Murió en esta ciudad el 13 de abril de 1747 legando su fortuna a los necesitados.

A tribute to the illustrious benefactor Captain of the ‘Old Thirds of Castile’ Pedro Antonio de Ibarra y Sangotita.

Born in the Villa de Durango in Visgata, Kingdom of Castile. He came to New Spain and lived in this city of the Province of Michoacán. Exercising charity, he founded several pious works including the Hospital de Jesús, today the Civil Hospital, the Convent of Religious and the charity that bears his name.

He died in this city on April 13, 1747 bequeathing
