Jenny Holzer has used text as an element in her work for decades. In Living, Holzer presents us with idiosyncratic, everyday thoughts and phrases and presents them using a modest voice and language. This stands in contradiction to her presentation of the work on bronze plaques–the type that are often used to commemorate important people or events with an air of authority. As you walk around the building you will discover ten plaques from this series that also included signs printed on aluminum as well as the cast bronze. For further information go to www.laumeier.org
