Remains of the east wall of the Umayyad Palace
Inscription.
The remains of the east wall of the Umayyad Palace, as well as its wide gate which has been filled with stones, served as foundations for the medieval and Ottoman city walls. During the archaeological excavations the blocking of the gate was breached and replaced by two stone vaults.
