Inscription. Buildings, preserved to a considerable height along the fortification line of the First Temple period (tenth-sixth centuries BCE): a straight wall, a royal structure, destroyed by the Babylonians in 586 BCE, on the floors of which large store jars were discovered (1), a gate house which leads into the royal quarter of the Ophel (2), and a tower from the Byzantine period (fifth century CE), constructed atop the Small Tower of the First Temple period (3).
