Regarding Founders Oak Island. The Pacific Palisades Historical Society currently owns and maintains Founders Oak Island, the small park in the median of the 900 block of Haverford Avenue. Founders Oak was designated Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument No. 38 on June 15, 1966. The tree was cut down in 1975 due to termite infestation.
