1. Welcome to Forest Park Marker
Inscription.
At 1,371 acres, Forest Park is St. Louis' big backyard. Home to extraordinary natural areas, restored historic landmarks, world-class cultural institutions, hundreds of species of wildlife and endless opportunities for recreation and relaxation, the Park attracts more than 13 million visitors each year. We welcome you as one of them.

While Forest Park fell into disrepair during the second half of last century, a $100 million restoration campaign led by Forest Park Forever and the City of St. Louis initiated a magnificent new era for the Park. Today, Forest Park Forever and the city continue our partnership to restore, maintain and sustain this civic treasure – now and forever.

We invite you to stop by the Park's Dennis & Judith Jones Visitor and Education Center or visit forestparkforever.org to learn about the Park's history and destinations, as well as the remarkable restoration projects that are completed, underway and planned for the coming years. They are made possible through the support of visitors like you.
