Our mission:
Living Classrooms Foundation is a nonprofit organization that strengthens communities and inspires people to achieve their potential through hands-on education and job training, using urban, natural, and maritime resources as "living classrooms." Living Classrooms works to make neighborhoods in Baltimore and Washington, DC, safer, stronger, and healthier through programs designed to support academic and career success, disrupt persistent cycles of poverty, and provide the skills necessary for individuals to succeed.

Our Methods:
Living Classrooms Foundation helps participants learn and meet their challenges with hands-on, real world applications of skills and knowledge–what we call "learning by doing." Our programs focus on education, workforce development and health and wellness, and take place in dynamic settings such as our East Harbor Campus and multiple community centers, environmental education sites, and historic ships.

Using a multigenerational approach that reaches from early childhood to senior citizen, we work with one child, teen, adult, or family at a time to help each person reach their
