Inscription.

the request of Count Ercole Turati, son of Francesco, the former owner of the building at the adjacent no. 7. The design was inspired by Palazzo della Cancelleria in Rome and Tuscan Renaissance architecture. The building was repeatedly altered in the 19th century by Ulisse Stacchi to convert it to the headquarters of the Unione Cooperativa shops. Between 1929 and 1931, Paolo Mezzanotte was commissioned by the Chamber of Commerce to refurbish the interiors, where he created two halls for the cereal and silk markets. Bombing in August 1943 damaged the whole building and, in 1950, Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni proposed works to consolidate the fairly integral facade and entirely rebuild behind it. Since 1954, Palazzo Ercole Turati has been the seat of Milan's Chamber of Commerce.

The remains of a Roman Theatre dating from the 1st century BC are conserved in the foundations of the building.
