Inscription.
Capt. Meriwether Lewis, on is return journey, crossed the Continental Divide through this pass on July 7, 1809.

From the Alice Creek Trailhead, about 10 miles north of Montana Highway 200 on the Alice Creek Road, take Trail #493 to the Lewis and Clark Pass. It's about 1 1/2 miles to the top. Touch for map.
