2. Rothschild Hospital Marker

The building was erected with funds provided by famed philanthropist baron Jacob de Rothschild. Dedicated in 1888, it was the first Jewish hospital outside the old city. It was acquired during World War I by the Hadassah Organization, which operated a hospital here until 1939. Today houses Hadassah College.
