Escape of "Eldad"
"הבריחה "אלדדד
During the British Mandate period, this was the site of the clinic of the orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Treu. On June 7, 1946, Dr. Yisrael Sheib "Eldad", one of the Lehi leaders imprisoned in the Latrun detention camp, was brought here for treatment. A Lehi unit headed by Ya'Acov Granek "Dov Hablondini" succeeded in breaking into the guarded clinic and setting "Eldad" free.
