1. Chaparral Hall Marker
Inscription. Built in 2009, Chaparral Hall is named after the most dominant natural vegetation type in Southern California, and is home to the Biology Department in the College of Science and Mathematics. Chaparral Hall's 13 "smart" lecture rooms can seat a total of 770 science and math students at a time in one of the most advanced building designs on campus. Its sustainability features include energy-efficient light sensors, state-of-the-art HVAC systems, and an impressive architectural design incorporating outdoor circulation spaces that take advantage of the temperate southern California climate.
