1. Nikola Tesla Legacy Corridor Marker
Inscription.
On November 15, 1896, western New York witnessed the world's first long distance transmission of alternating electricity via the genius of Nikola Tesla. AC electricity hydro-generated at Niagara Falls flowed to the landmark North Tonawanda Power Transfer Station and on to Buffalo. Eventually, this accomplishment was utilized to electrically transform the entire planet.

The Tesla Coil in the Park art structure is a tribute to Nikola Tesla. It marks the historical significance of North Tonawanda in the Nikola Tesla Legacy Corridor, the mid-point between the stately statue of Nikola Tesla on Goat Island and the elegant statue in Nikola Tesla Park in Buffalo, NY.
