Inscription.
In 1891, fellow New Yorker, Nikola Tesla became an American citizen and in that same year obtained 10 US Patents one of which was for his Tesla Oscillator," better known as the "Tesla Coil."

One of Tesla's most significant inventions, the Tesla Coil was a high frequency AC transformer capable of creating high voltage at low current. Tesla utilized this invention as a component of the first generation of transmitters to carry wireless technology.

In 1943, the United States Supreme Court decreed that the 1891 patent of Nikola Tesla's Oscillator (Coil) per-dated G. Marconi's work and thus validated Tesla as the 'FATHER of RADIO' thereby contradicting the 1909 Nobel Prize Committee which had presented Guglielmo Marconi the award for his wireless work.

The iconic Tesla Coll high frequency oscillator was used in a variety of electrical experiments such as wireless phosphorescence, wireless lighting, X-radiation, high frequency AC phenomena, and the wireless transmission of electrical energy. Ultimately, the physics of the Tesla Coil was employed in all radio and television receivers.

This symbolic and artistic rendering of the Tesla Coil is presented as a tribute to Nikola Tesla, the Father of Radio. It is not electrified and safe to sit upon.
