1. Israel Bonaparte Bigelow Marker
Inscription.  Israel Bonaparte Bigelow was from Connecticut and was a stage coach operator for General Taylor. He became the first County Judge of Cameron County and Brownsville's first Mayor but was ousted by the city council on twelve counts of election irregularities. He and John Webb applied to the State of Texas to incorporate the town site into a city.
