Did you know… Bald eagle Populations plummeted in the 1940's and 1950's when DDT was introduced. The pesticide worked its way up the food chain, becoming concentrated in top predators, including bald eagles. This caused the eagles to lay eggs with brittle shells that did not survive long enough to hatch.
