1. A Conservation Success Story Marker
Inscription.
Once on the brink of extinction, bald eagle populations have historically been threatened by exposure to the pesticide DDT, urban development and hunting.

Thankfully story doesn't end there!

Due to the conservation efforts of people just like you, these majestic raptors are making a comeback. Restored habitats, the Endangered Species Act and laws banning the use of DDT have all made a life-saving difference for the bald eagle. The eagle population has increased from 400 in 1963 to more than 7,000 today!
