1. Horse Ferry Marker
Inscription. A horse ferry began operation between Rising Sun and Rabbit Hash, KY around 1850. A second ferry followed at the lane by Dam 38. A team of horses on a treadmill propelled the ferries. Blind horses were preferred because they had no fear and were easier to manage.
