1. 1937 Ohio River Flood Marker
Inscription. The worst flood in Rising Sun's history peaked on Jan. 26, 1937. Official river readings upstream in Cincinnati gauged the crest at 80.0 feet. Downstream at Markland, the recorded high-water mark was 76.1 feet. Damage was extensive along the entire Ohio River Valley.
