1. 1775 Marker

Inscription. The First Baptist Church in America relocated to its present site. Market House and University Hall were five years old. "Weybosset" Bridge had been rebuilt and a ferry boat operated from Cowpen Point. Many more wharfs appeared behind Towne Street and the age of the worldwide shipping trade was underway in Providence.
