1. George Washington Marker
Inscription. While exploring the lands of "the Ohio Country" in 1770, George Washington reached this point on October 28 and encamped over night. The impressions gained on this trip influenced his entire later life.

There is no date to indicate when the marker was erected, but the subtitle reads, "Erected by the Ohio Daughters of the American Revolution in honor of the bicentennial of his birth." George Washington was born in 1732, that implies that this marker was erected in 1932. Given the condition of the marker this is possible, making it one of the oldest historical markers in the area.

3. Steps leading to the marker
The marker is located at the top of a steep embankment along the road. Be careful, the steps have settled and are very uneven.
