Regarding Gallatin County Courthouse. It was built immediately after the county seat was moved from Port William to Warsaw. Now the oldest courthouse in continuous use in Kentucky, it originally faced the Ohio River. A cupola was added during an 1868 enlargement. The courthouse was remodeled a year after the 1937 Ohio River flood, a project that also relocated the entrance and added a Greek Revival portico to the Main Street side. A rear addition was constructed in 2008.
