Haar vader was de koopman Wijnand Heineken, een oom van de bierbrouwer Gerard Adriaan Heineken. Op de Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten in Amsterdam kreeg ze schilderles van August Allebé. Haar werk bestaat uit (bloem)stillevens, stadsgezichten, landschappen en enkele portretten.

Her father was the merchant Wijnand Heineken, an uncle of the beer brewer Gerard Adriaan Heineken. At the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam she received painting lessons from August Allebé. Her work consists of (floral) still lifes, cityscapes, landscapes and a few portraits.

Excerpt: Marie Henriëtte Heineken (8 June 1844 – 1 March 1930) was a Dutch painter mainly known for flower still lifes. Her paintings are characterised as impressionist…She was a cousin of the founder of Heineken. During a holiday when she was still a child, she met a painter, and became fascinated with painting. Her earliest work dates from 1859, and she would remain an active painter for the rest of her life.
