Inscription.
In 1882, German-born Henry Schmulbach started the Schmulbach Brewing Company in South Wheeling. To help promote his beer he built Mozart Park on the hill overlooking South Wheeling. It featured an incline, a roller coaster, bowling alley, and dance pavilion. West Virginia's 1914 alcohol prohibition laws permanently closed the brewery.
