1. United HIAS Service plaque
Inscription.
This plaque is dedicated to United HIAS Service, the worldwide Jewish migration agency which occupied the building from 1921 to 1965.

Since 1884 United HIAS Service has rescued almost 4,000,000 Jewish men, women and children from countries of oppression and persecution and resettled them in lands of freedom and security.

Tens of thousands of these refugees and migrants were sheltered and fed in this building before they entered the mainstream of life in the United States.

These immigrants and their children helped build this great nation.
