Center Point in Kerr County, Texas — The American South (West South Central)
Center Point Train Depot
By 1875 Center Point was a thriving community and active trading center for area ranches and farms. After the arrival of the railroad, train boxcars would be filled with cattle, wool, mohair, and farm produce which were shipped to cities far and wide. The depot was also important for passenger travel, bringing visitors for business and recreation.
By 1900 Center Point had an estimated population of 500, permanent churches, a solid business community, public schools and a growing reputation as a health and recreation resort area.
Rail service was discontinued in the early 1970's.
In 2012 the depot was moved to its current location, here in the Center Point Historical Park.
