Plaza Colón / Colón Square (Estás aquí)
Originally named as St. James, Patron Saint of Spanish Arms, Plaza Colón was renamed in 1893 honoring Christopher Columbus on the 400th anniversary of the discovery of Puerto Rico. Italian scultor Achille Cannessa created the marble and bronze statue. Over the pedestal, bronze talbes record important episodes of the explorer's life.
