Miep Gies arriesgó su vida para ayudar a la familia Frank y a sus cuatro amigos a esconderse de los nazis. Ella les proveía comida, ropa y libros durante los largos años que duraron escondidos. Después que fueron delatados, arrestados y enviados a campos de concentración, Miep encontró y guardó el diario de Ana Frank. Se lo entregó al padre de Ana, único sobreviviente de la familia, depués de la guerra. Miep Gies risked her life to help the Frank family and four of their friends hide from the Nazis. She provided them with food, clothing, and books during their years in hiding. After they were betrayed and arrested, Miep found and kept Anne Frank's diary. She later handed it over to Anne's father, sole survivor of the family. "I am not a hero. I stand at the end of the long, long line of good Dutch people who did what I did or more-much more-curing those dark and terrible times years ago…" Miep Gies
