Frieda Adam y Erna Puterman se conocieron en el trabajo. Erna perdió el trabajo debido a las leyes anti judías implementadas por el gobiero nazi, pero las dos jóvenes adolescentes mantuvieron la amistad. Cuando la madre de Erna fue arrestada, y enviada a Auschwitz, Frieda la acogió en su hogar y le dio refugio a ella y su hermano sordo por mas de dos años. Frieda tenia tres niños pequeños, seis, cuatro y dos años y un esposo en el ejercito alemán. Cuando el esposo descubrió que ella estaba escondiendo a dos judíos la amenazó con delatarla. Frieda les consiguió otro escondite y Erna y su hermano sobrevivieron la guerra gracias a su valentía.

Frieda Adam and Erna Puterman met each other at work. Erna lost her job because of the anti-Jewish laws of the Nazi government, but the two teenage girls remained friends. When Erna's mother was arrested and sent to Auschwitz, Frieda hid Erna and her deaf brother in her house for more than two years. Frieda had three small children ages six, four and two, and a husband in the German army. When her husband discovered she was hiding Jews, he blackmailed her. Frieda found them nother hiding place and they survived the war thanks to her bravery.
