Internist en hoofd van de interne kliniek in het Binnengasthuis. Tijdens de oorlogsjaren onder meer lid van de leiding van het artsenverzet. Hij was de grondlegger van de moderne bloedtransfusietherapie.
Internist and head of the internal clinic in the Binnengasthuis hospital. During the war years he was a member of the leadership of the doctors’ resistance. He was a pioneer of modern blood transfusion therapy.
