St. Peter's Churchyard
Washington's original "free" church, open to all denominations, was constructed on lot 50 of the town's plat, created by Col. James Bonner, the founder of Washington, circa 1776. Bonner and two other Revolutionary War soldiers are buried here. The earliest marked grave is dated 1765.
