Resolution Designating Jack Fox Park
Whereas, the Honorable John J. (Jack) Fox, Mayor of the City of Canton, South Dakota, has served the community of Canton in many ways, thus resulting long ago in Mayor Fox being designated citizen of the year in the City of Canton; and
Whereas, Mayor Fox has continued to make substantial contributions to the City of Canton, particularly in the promotion of patriotism, beautification of the City, the development of parks, the promotion of recreation programs and the economical operation of government; and,
Whereas, Mayor Fox has always sought to keep the lines of communication open between him and the City of Canton; and
Whereas, the citizens of Canton now want to communicate this message to Mayor Fox: "Jack, we love you and appreciate everything you have done."
Now, therefore, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Canton, South Dakota, that the city park located on Block 11 of the Original Plat of the City of Canton, Lincoln County, South Dakota, from this time forward be designated as "Jack Fox Park" and that appropriate notice of this designation be given to the public by the erection of signs and such other notice as the City Commission may deem appropriate.
Adopted by the City Commission this 15th day of October, 1985.
