Inscription. [Top] City mayor-council many years. Founded city public schools. Founded city water works. Co-founder & V.P., Georgia Brick Company. President, Bank of Adairsville. Owner-editor Adairsville Banner. Owner, Bowdoin Drug Co. Practiced medicine in Adairsville from 1889-1919, 15 years on horseback, over 15-mile radius – delivered over 3000 babies in area. Valedictorian, Atlanta Med. College 1889. Major, US Army WWI. Surgeon, US Public Health Service, Staff surgeon, NC & StL R.R. 1919-1942 Deputy State Commissioner of Health. Edited Georgia Health 22 years.

[Bottom] Wrote “Georgia Baby Book for Mothers”, 400,000 copies distributed. Founded Georgia midwife program. Co-founder Mt. Alto Childrens TB Care Center. 1924 president Georgia Children's Home Society. 33rd Mason, Grand Master Free & Accepted Masons. Grand High Priest Royal Arch Masons, Grand Illus. Master R&S Masons.
