Inscription.
This grove of flowering trees is a living memorial dedicated to the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001. It is a passive space for quiet contemplation.

This is one of five Living Memorial Groves, one in each borough, with clear views of downtown Manhattan where the twin towers once stood. The viewshed parks were important community gathering places on Sept. 11.

All of the groves have trees that flower with white blossoms in early springs. The Manhattan grove is composed of trees transplanted from the plaza areas around the World Trade Center that were badly damaged but survived. The trees planted in these groves will provide a lasting reminder of a terrible event, while also creating a gathering space for remembrance and healing.

For more information or to volunteer to care for this space, please call 311.
