Sunset Park in Brooklyn in Kings County, New York — The American Northeast (Mid-Atlantic)
Riverview Homes Association
Incorporated 1 May, 1923
— [673-683 41st Street] —
One of the earliest examples of not-for-profit housing cooperatives in the United States, Riverview Homes was established and constructed by Finnish immigrants who settled in the neighborhood surrounding Sunset Park, creating what became affectionately known as Finntown.
To the many courageous and hard-working men and women from Finland who contributed their toil and sacrifice for the betterment of their fellows, this is inscribed.
Eric O. Holmgren, Architect
Erected by Riverview Homes Association.
