Inscription.
This Edwardian Baroque building with a Beaux Arts style canopy is one of more than thirty cooperative apartment buildings in Sunset Park. It was designed and built by the architects Eisenia and Carlson in 1914. These grand buildings were converted into co-ops with the help of Finnish immigrants, who brought this system to America. All the thirty+ Sunset Park cooperatives are known as Finnish Co-ops in honor of their contributions and building of this community. These buildings were among the first co-ops in the USA, serving as a model for the cooperative housing movement that followe.

Sunset Park North Historic District This building contributes to the historic character of the Sunset Park North Historic District, designated by the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission in 2019, and represents the neighborhood's architectural development following the turn of the 20th century.
