There's a lot of growing going on behind this fence. Since 1970, our Children's Garden has been a place where city kids explore their connections to nature and experience the excitement of growing their own food.
Growing vegetables, herbs, and flowers from seed to harvest, young gardeners learn about the different plant parts that we eat—seeds, roots, stems, flowers, leaves, and buds. In addition to preparing and sampling what they grow, our young urban farmers learn about sustainability and conservation in the world around them.
